Nose-army's News

Posted by Nose-army - August 15th, 2008

This is the stuff I'm working on right now:
1. Expresso and the Vikings: 12% complete. Due date: November 1st
2. Character movie clips for a simulated studios game: 0% Due date: ?
3. Super Secret Surprise: 12% complete. Due date: December 1st
5. Website redesign: 60% complete. Due date: End of September
So I guess I'll update this every once in a while, instead of changing the post.
By the way, I made this short for a friend in my swim group. Crush Chaos.
I didn't submit it cuz nobody would understand it.
Also, heres something I threw together for mothers day a while ago. LINK.
Here's a test of my character for Expresso and the Vikings.

And here's a birthday card that I made for my sister.

You know what? The big sprite guys should make a super-freaking-awesome-juicy-ubertasti c-brilliant sprite collab, where they each have to make a sprite sheet for and animate the character they are assigned.
Hmm... I think Alvin-Earthworm would do Mario, since he seems to be the sorta all-arounder.
Short Factor would do Sonic, since he's really good at making fast-paced movies.
Jonbro would do Kirby, since he's good at making the sprites bouncy.
BlackDevilX would do Megaman or something, since he's good at effects.
Daniel Sun would do Link or someone like that, because he's super-crazy-awesome at doing kung-fu fighting.
And Proxicide would do some Street fighter guy, cuz he's really... uh... good at street fighter guys.
And they'd all fight or something.

And here's a picture of a jellyfish and a tellytubby.

Current Projects

Well, I've been trying to get out of the habit of starting ideas and than leaving hem unfinished, but it looks like I'm failing. To anybody who saw my other news post, the Stick-War is no more! Me and eyerecon have decided to change our plans, and move right on to the main story of our team's heroes. It's supposed to be a three-episode story, where we take turns animating scenes. We just have to finish planning it out, and than we can get started.
As for now, my main project is my part in a secret collab with just me and eyerecon. I'm trying to make it my highest quality animation yet.
Btw, I canceled Bullet's Escape.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot, if you haven't seen Wall-E, go see it. Now.

Zomg.

He's some guy I made up. He was originally just a zombie, but then I saw the third Pirates of the Carribean movie, so I made him a pirate. I didn't want him to look serious. His problem is that he's always falling apart and losing body parts. I made it so that he can get beat up a lot, and be able to just put himself back together. And he's always groaning and mumbling and cursing under his breath about how he hates everything. Maybe someday he'll be in a short cartoon. (Sigh.)

These are some ideas for animations I will probably never make. I like coming up with the ideas, though. It's pretty fun...

Bullet's Escape
I am actually going to try hard to get this done. This is a movie featuring my first Flash character, Bullet. Rather than a poninjas tribute, which would just be a bunch of fighting, this cartoon is going to be a high speed chase. With Blockhead style FBF, Bullet will have to run through an island to find his crashed UFO, but an evil scientist has mutated all the innocent people there into weirdo monster things, and they will try to capture him for the scientist.

The Adventures Of Lemming-Boy
This is a strange character that I came up with in a drawing class a while ago. His exploits pretty much consist of finding high cliffs to jump off. It would be done fully FBF, with a collection of 5 shorts within the submission, all featuring him jumping off a cliff.

Spectrum Madness
An idea for Madness day 08, a colourful hero has to go into a grey building and destroy all the black-and-white Madness people inside, so that he can plant a bomb and restore everything to full colour. This would be done with motion tweens and that cool outlining trick I discovered.

8-Bit Battle
This is probably the most original, creative, and imaginative animation idea I have ever come up with! Imagine a sprite fight, but with 8-bit characters including Mario, Link, Samus, Megaman, the Ice Climbers, Pit, Alex from River City Ransom, Pac-man, Simon from Castlevania, the Exite Bike rider, and Balloon Fighter. It's genius!

The Stick War
Last but definitely not least, this is a war that is already two years old. Me and my friend, Eyerecon made this in grade 7. We created our own characters, mine being a guy with pants and a nose, and his with a shirt and eyes. We started out just drawing our guys beating the other person's guys up, and then more people joined. One kid came in with Robots, and another with Demons, perfect antagonists. We created heroes for our teams, with unique personalities and powers. This would basically be a stretch of that, where the characters we draw come to life and actually fight. You will be introduced to the heroes when we finish this. I really hope we can finish it, cuz it's our most original idea, (next to 8-bit battle, of course.)

Cartoon Ideas

I don't know if this would work, since I don't know actionscript, but it's a cool idea anyway. It would be a smash bros style game where each animator made their own movie clips for their own character/ mascot's moves and attacks, and sent them in to a really good script-monkey like negative-one or someone. They would have a checklist to fill, like the idle loop, the run cycle, the little attack combo, the big attack combo... etc. Mindchamber should animate P-bot, cuz he's good at robots (I dunno if Alloy would be in it), and Luis could animate Pico, cuz he doesn't really have a mascot. There would be The Swain with Blockhead, JohnnyUtah with a Tankman, Brad Borne with the fancy pants man, Krinkels with Hank or Jebus, and maybe even Adam Phillips with Bitey. And many more...
By the way, I'm 4/5 done Dreamland Blitz now. Yay I'm gonna submit soon. I'd say I'll submit it some time in early June.

Awesome Collab Idea.

I'm three quarters done my big project. It features Kirby beating up the minor enemies in a field in Dreamland. I started it because there didn't seem to be anything of this sort in the Kirby collection.
Yeah, I know, it's another sprite fight, sorry, I'll be more original next time. But it isn't exactly a sprite fight, cuz I drew over the sprites, so it's more like a real animation.
Here's a screen.
